How to use the Clearblue Weekly Pregnancy Test
1. Before you begin
Please always read the package leaflet carefully before using a Clearblue pregnancy test with week indicator.
If you test from the day of your expected period, you can test for pregnancy at any time of the day. If you test early and for an accurate result of the week indicator, you need to use the first urine of the day. Avoid drinking too much liquid before the digital pregnancy test.
When you are ready to test, remove the test stick from its foil pouch and remove the blue cap. Use the test immediately.
2. Conducting the test
Simply place the absorbent tip down in your urine streamJust 5 seconds. Be careful not to get the rest of the digital pregnancy test stick wet.
Or you can collect a sample of your urine in a clean, dry container instead. Place the absorbent tip face down in the urine for20 secondsonly.
- You may want to put the cap back on and lay the digital pregnancy test stick flat.
- Hold the tip pointing down or lay the digital pregnancy test stick flat while waiting for the result.
IMPORTANT
Never hold the test stick with the absorbent tip up throughout the test.
3. Wait 3 minutes
After you have run the Clearblue Weekly Pregnancy Test, an hourglass wait icon will flash to show that the test is working. When the wait icon stops flashing, your result will appear.
4. Read your results
- Within 3 minutes your final result will be displayed
- It is possible that the result "Pregnant" appears before the result of the week display. Continue to wait until the hourglass stops blinking to see the result of your week display.
- Your result will be shown on the display for about 24 hours.

How accurate is the Clearblue Weekly Pregnancy Test in detecting pregnancy?
It is more than 99% accurate in determining if you are pregnant or not when used from the day of your expected period. If you test before your expected period and get a Not Pregnant result, there's still a chance you're pregnant. See below.
When can I test with the Clearblue Weekly Pregnancy Test?
Pregnancy hormone levels rise rapidly in early pregnancy and the Clearblue pregnancy test with week indicator can be used to test up to 5 days before your missed period (that's 4 days before your expected period). In laboratory testing of early pregnancy samples, the Clearblue Weekly Pregnancy Test gave the following results:

To find out when your period is due, calculate your usual cycle length by counting the number of days from the first day of your period to the day before your next period starts.
- If you have irregular cycles, you should calculate your longest cycle in the past few months before testing.
- If you don't know when your period is due, we recommend taking the test at least 19 days after you last had unprotected sex.
How accurate is the Clearblue Weeks Indicator?
The week indicator is 93% accurate when it comes to when you got pregnant compared to the time since ovulation. A published study comparing dating by week indicator to the standard of ultrasound treatment (11-13 weeks) found that the results agreed 97% of the time*.

The Clearblue pregnancy test with week indicator says I'm pregnant but I don't think I got pregnant when the week indicator says I'm pregnant. Is this possible?
The week indicator is 93% accurate when tested with your first urine of the day. Some medications or medical conditions can affect the result. See the following question.
Can medication or diseases affect the result?
Always read the manufacturer's instructions for any medication you are taking before taking a test.
- Fertility drugs that contain hCG can give misleading results (these fertility drugs are usually given by injection, and a test taken too soon after administration can give a false “pregnant” result).
- Other fertility therapies (e.g. clomiphene citrate), pain relievers and hormonal contraceptives (e.g. birth control pills) should not affect the result.
- If you've recently stopped using hormonal contraceptives or are using fertility therapies like clomiphene citrate, your periods may be irregular, causing you to test too soon.
- Ectopic pregnancy, ovarian cysts, menopause and some very rare conditions can give misleading results.
If you get unexpected results, you should discuss them with your doctor.
I previously tested 'Pregnant' but tested again and got a result of 'Not Pregnant' or my period has started. What does that mean?
While the test is over 99% accurate at detecting the pregnancy hormone from the day your expected period is due, it is possible to get a pregnancy result and later find out that you are not pregnant (i.e. your period may start). This can be due to a natural loss during the early stages of pregnancy known as 'early pregnancy loss', which is unfortunately not uncommon as around 1 in 4 pregnancies end in early pregnancy loss. If you get unexpected results, ask your doctor for advice.
My Clearblue Weekly Pregnancy Test says I'm not pregnant. What should I do?
You may not be pregnant, your pregnancy hormone levels may not be high enough to be detected, or you miscalculated the day of your expected period.
- If you tested too early, test again when your period is due.
- If your period is late, test again in 3 days. If this test returns a result of 'Not Pregnant' and you still haven't had your period, see your doctor.
